Dr. Bravo
The Galaxy S25 is an attention-grabbing flagship model powered by Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, delivering a significant performance boost over the previous generation. It features a generous 12GB of RAM, e-money compatibility (FeliCa), and impressive integration with Samsung's Galaxy ecosystem. The wide range of color variations, choice between 256GB/512GB storage options, and SIM-free flexibility for carrier selection are all highly praised. With AI capabilities onboard, this is a device standing at the gateway to Samsung's vision of the next-generation smartphone experience.
BooLab Reviewer Negative Reviews
While the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy performance is excellent, as an engineer I find it disappointing that the camera hardware remains unchanged from the previous generation. Sensor size limitations are exposed in low-light conditions, and zoom beyond 10x is hardly practical. AI-based image quality enhancement has its limits—without physical hardware evolution, fundamental improvement is difficult. Particularly for those upgrading from the S24, there's essentially zero surprise in the camera department.
Considering the Galaxy S25's price range, 25W charging is clearly a negative from a value perspective. Chinese manufacturers at the same price point offer 90W-120W charging as standard, and the difference in charging time becomes significant daily stress. Moreover, with minimal evolution from the S24, and older models now discounted, there's little economic rationale for choosing the new model. The lack of microSD support is also disadvantageous, requiring additional costs for storage expansion.
Reports of battery life deteriorating compared to S23 and S24 cannot be overlooked. The worsening heat generation and battery consumption in the S25 Ultra is particularly serious, raising concerns about accelerated battery degradation for long-term use. While heat is also evidence of intensive processing, sustained high temperatures negatively affect battery lifespan and device durability. Combined with long full-charge times, these specs are harsh for heavy users.
What concerns me for daily use is the lack of mask-compatible facial recognition and no 3.5mm jack. Since the COVID era, mask compatibility should be considered essential functionality—disappointing. The lack of aptX Adaptive support is also painful for high-quality wireless audio fans. While AI features sound attractive, voices saying "no motivation to use them" hit the mark given the unclear actual use cases. More than feature quantity, what matters is whether they integrate into daily life.
Negative Review Summary

Dr. Bravo
Summarizing the BooLab analysts' findings, the Galaxy S25 gives a strong impression of being on a "plateau of evolution." The camera hardware remains unchanged from the previous generation, offering few surprises, and battery performance shows a declining trend rather than improvement. The 25W charging speed is modest compared to Chinese manufacturers' 90W+ capabilities. Multiple reports note heating issues, requiring caution during gaming or intensive tasks. While AI features are new, many voices question their practical necessity in daily life. For S24 upgrade users, the content feels somewhat underwhelming.

Dr. Bravo
But here's another perspective—this could actually indicate "high level of completeness." The unchanged camera suggests it already reached sufficient quality in the previous generation. AI features may reveal their true value through future updates. Heat generation is "proof of solid processing power"—a flip side of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy's high performance. The modest charging speed can be seen as design prioritizing battery longevity. If you're seeking "stable usability," this sense of maturity might actually be attractive.
